Cheating romeo Philip Wandless covered up a one-night stand by telling his girlfriend he'd been mugged - but was caught out after she made him report the theft to the police.
He left his wallet and mobile phone behind as he fled the other woman's house when her boyfriend turned up. And officers knew he was lying about the robbery because he had been seen crashing his car at the time.
Wandless, 27, of Gosport, Hants, was fined £700 and had seven penalty points put on his licence by Fareham JPs after he admitted failing to report an accident and obstruction.
But he is now back with his girlfriend...
